Salmon Dinner in Eastport on October 12th Will Benefit John Pike Grady Scholarship Fund
The 2008 Eastport Salmon Festival Committee and The Eastport Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Salmon Sunday Dinner on Sunday, October 12th at the Eastport Elementary School. The dinner had been scheduled for September 7th during the Salmon Festival but was cancelled because of bad weather.
Thanks to the generosity and volunteer efforts of many in the Eastport community they were able to reschedule the very popular salmon feast for Columbus Day Weekend. The October event is being organized by Eleanor Norton and Phyllis Seibert of Eastport. Siebert is Maine’s most celebrated chef having served as Blaine House chef under five Maine Governors. They will be assisted by a small army of Salmon Festival and local volunteers.
There will be two seatings. The first at 5:00 PM and the second at 6:30 PM. Tickets are $10.00. The full meal will include the Salmon, fresh vegetable, salad, rolls, beverage and a very special dessert prepared by The Pickled Herring’s pastry chef.
The salmon feast is one of the region’s most popular annual events and traditionally draws hungry participants from all over Maine, New Brunswick and beyond.
Profits from the dinner will benefit the John Pike Grady Scholarship Fund at The Boat School.
